Dylan Philips, nine years old, used to think it was really stupid that she was allergic to dogs so couldn’t have one, especially because her father, veterinarian Will Philips, is the head of the Hanover SPCA. But when she started surreptitiously playing with Christmas on her way home from school, she had no bad reactions. So she finally convinced her father she wasn’t allergic anymore and adopted Christmas from the SPCA. But now they say that have to take him back!  And, she learns down the line, to kill him! She absolutely will not let that happen!
